Twin Room – Wind in the Willows

This room has a pair of antique French beds – these have head and footboards, and as they are 6’ long, may not suit very tall guests.
The room is in the oldest part of the house and is very heavily beamed, with a polished, wide and sloping wooden floor. The window overlooks the garden and the duck pond – complete with the large weeping willow tree. The prints on the walls are of Mr Toad and his friends. A book I have loved from childhood.

The fabric lining the wall to the bedroom entrance is also depicts Wind in the Willows and was a blind in the boys’ bedroom when they were little. We like recycling here!
There is no fireplace in this room but we do provide a realistic flame-effect stove for extra comfort in the winter months, also operated by remote control, allowing you to switch it off before drifting off to sleep, from the comfort of your bed, or leave the flame effect flickering.

There is a flat screened television with Free-View and integral DVD , a leather chair to loll in, with tea and coffee-making equipment , corkscrew and wine glasses. A powerful hairdryer and a large, well placed mirror to help you to look your best. As with the other room, the landing between rooms, houses book-laden shelves . Please feel free to borrow anything that takes your fancy.

Green Bedroom

This room will only be available if the 4 poster room is booked and the twin room is not in use, as either will have sole use of the Blue Bathroom. It offers an alternative to the twin beds, is another antique French bed. This one is 7’x7’. This room is east facing and gets the full morning sun and overlooks the gardens and old orchard and tennis court.
