Four Poster Bedroom
This is a large well lit room due to the dual aspect windows with heavy, sumptuous curtaining. There is a French style 4 poster bed with a superbly comfortable mattress with a deep topper to give the best sleep-inducing environment. There is a working fireplace in this room and it can be lit upon request, or, somewhat more conveniently, a remote controlled Dimplex log-effect woodburner –surprisingly realistic!
The east facing window is set in to an unusual turret overlooking the courtyard area, the water trough pond complete with fish and tinkling fountain, kitchen garden, ancient stone-slabbed pig-stys and dovecote with fields beyond, with an upholstered window seat and table where breakfast can be taken at your leisure.
The bathroom leading off the bedroom is as large a most bedrooms and houses a freestanding cast-iron roll top bath in which our guests can luxuriate in bubbles and then dry off with the fluffy towels and the equally fluffy dressing gowns to be found hanging on the backs of the two doors that lead into the room. Please note, there is no separate shower in this bathroom.
There is a powerful hairdryer, thoughtful lighting and a well- placed mirror.
If you need an iron and board to complete the smooth appearance, you only need to ask..
Whilst one is getting ready, the other can loll in front of the flat screened television with DVD, or listen to music, sitting in the comfy chair or in the window seat with a book (plenty on the bookshelves on the landing outside the room) with a cup of tea or coffee from the tray, or even a glass of wine, for which we have provided the corkscrew and glasses!
There is space in this room to put a single bed and a cot for an accompanying child/children.
This room will only be available if the 4 poster room is booked and the twin room is not in use, as either will have sole use of the Blue Bathroom. It offers an alternative to the twin beds, is another antique French bed. This one is 7’x7’. This room is east facing and gets the full morning sun and overlooks the gardens and old orchard and tennis court.
For groups wishing to book all 3 rooms, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
